Toronto Blue Jays at Oakland A's
Tuesday, May 27th, 10:05 PM ET

The Blue Jays are hot right now having won five straight, but look for the streak to come to an end tonight in Oakland. All five wins came at home and tonight they must deal with a lefty, something they do not deal well with, as they average just 2.8 runs per game vs. southpaws this season. Starter AJ Burnett has a terrible TSR of 2-16 on the road when the total is 7.5 or less. Oakland is an incredible 17-3 if coming off back-to-back home games.

Play on: Oakland

Scott Spreitzer

Game: Boston Red Sox at Seattle Mariners
Prediction: Boston Red Sox

Every once in a while, there's value with big favorites. That was the case in our Saturday GOM win with the Yankees and again tonight with the Red Sox. The Mariners have now dropped seven in a row and send the wrong pitcher to the rubber on Tuesday. Batista has not only struggled in his career against the Bosox, but he's also been an absolute nightmare this season in home outings. It doesn't help Seattle's chances that they're only scoring 3.4 runs per game in home night outings against righties. Look for "Dice-K" to continue to roll with a big win over the hapless Mariners on Tuesday.

John Fina's Free MLB Selection
May 27, 2008

Selection: Detroit/Los Angeles Over 9 (-110)

Reason: Put us down on the Detroit Tigers/Los Angeles Angels Over 9 for our Free MLB Selection on Tuesday. Today we expect a high-scoring game as the Detroit Tigers do battle with the Los Angeles Angels. One reason why we expect a high-scoring game is because both teams will be sending to the mound struggling starting pitchers. This says it all... The Detroit Tigers Starting Pitcher (Jeremy Bonderman) has a 5.62 ERA in his last 3 starts, while Los Angeles Angels Starting Pitcher (Ervin Santana) has a 6.62 ERA in his last 3 starts. As you can see, both these pitchers have been struggling and will most likely give up many runs today. In addition, these teams have a history of scoring many runs when they meet. In fact, the Over is 8-3-1 in the last 12 meetings between these teams. We expect to see another high-scoring game tonight! Take the Detroit Tigers/Los Angeles Angels Over 9!

NOTE:

Game: Los Angeles Lakers at San Antonio (9:05 PM Eastern)
Pick: First Half UNDER 96.5 -110

The Lakers have been playing some of their best basketball of the year, but the 84 points in game three was their lowest output of the year. They realize what they have to do to win on the road here - play great defense and match the intensity of the Spurs. The Lakers will turn it up a notch on defense, especially at the game's onset. As we get deeper into the playoffs both of these teams continue to increase the defensive intensity. Los Angeles allowed 51 points per game in the first half during the regular season, but in the playoffs they have cut that to 48.9. In their last five games it has dropped to 46.8. San Antonio allowed 46 per game in the first half in the regular season but just 44.2 over their last five games. Under Popovich, the Spurs are 19-7 UNDER in the first half in the Conference Finals. We like the Spurs to come out fired up, play great defense keeping the first-half to come in UNDER the total.
